Demo Submission Guidelines
We have to do this for several reasons. It stops us receiving thousands of emails all asking the same questions, it makes bands and artists think twice about submitting a demo, it lays down our policy on demo material clearly so we all know where we stand. We do try to listen to everything that is sent to us, but before you put that package in the post, please read on:
- Send your demo on CD or Mini Disc only. Make sure that contact information
is on the media that you send.
- Send a Bio, photos and a press kit.
- We cannot return any material that you send us, so to avoid wasting
your time and ours, be sure that we will be interested in what you have
to offer first. You're on our website, please take the opportunity while you're here to research our artists and projects to see if you would "fit-in" with the musical interests of Chemical Emissions.
- Please do not fill our e-mail inboxes with mail. One e-mail will do,
we will try to reply but due to the quantity that we receive it may
take a week or never happen.
- Please do not e-mail music to us. You can send us a link to your website
and/or mp3 files but that will not guarantee that we will visit it or
listen to your track.
- If you're serious, you should be able to convince us.
- Due to the bulk of material that we receive we will usually only contact
you if we want to pursue the matter further. If you do not hear from
us then you have been unsuccessful. Don't take it personally, it's just
that at the time we received your material we felt that we were not
in a position to offer you a deal.
- Please do not chase up your progress. If your material has not been
returned to you by the Post Office then we have received it.
- If you leave a voice mail message then please do not expect us to
call you back, only leave voice mail if you would like to inform us
of an impending demo submission. Preferred communication is by e-mail.
- If you want us to see you live, we must be able to find out about
forthcoming performances. Be sure they are listed on websites and press
kits. We will not inform you if we are going to one of your performances.
- Do not ask questions that are answered here, it creates a very bad
impression if you have not bothered to seek out information that is
already clearly available to you.
- Good Luck.

We are not currently signing new acts.
However if you wish to try and get on our recommended artists list then please send a demo in saying so.
